Papersky’s Tour de Nippon project is about finding the magic of Japan’s rural districts, their inhabitants, nature, culture and food. We travel to various prefectures and ride bicycles. Traveling via bicycle allows us a clean and healthy way to explore Japan’s rural areas.

With the spread of COVID-19, we have decided to postpone PAPERSKY Tour de Nippon in Tochigi / Yaita, which was scheduled for July 17 (Sat) and 18 (Sun), 2021 again. We will inform you of the new date when it is decided, so please be patient.

Tochigi prefecture will be the destination for the Spring edition of Papersky’s Tour de Nippon. On this tour you’ll enjoy views of the majestic Nasu Mountain Range, and travel through the many fruit and rice fields of agriculturally rich Yaita city before making a few river crossings to arrive at our final destination the mountain onsen town of Kinugawa in Nikko.

The event will take place on 7/17 (sat.) and 7/18 (sun.). Papersky’s Tour de Nippon project is about finding the magic of Japan’s rural districts, their inhabitants, nature, culture and food. Each ride travels to various prefectures to ride bicycles, eat local food and meet the ‘real’ people of the area. This upcoming ride will take us through Yaita the heart of Tochigi Prefecture.

FEATURING: 
7/17 (Sat.) – Day 1 / Cycle from Nasu Shiobara to Yaita
*Enjoy crystal clear fresh water trout pulled from the Konseigawa River. 
*Apple pie made from Yaita’s famous apples at, a revitalized old house
*An intimate evening featuring Yaita locals. Listen to their stories while eating regional delicacies.

7/18 (Sun.) – Day 2 / Cycle from Yaita to Nikko
*follow in the footsteps of the legendary poet, Basho. 
*Explore the ruins of an abandoned steam locomotive’s former route. 
*Eat stone-ground buckwheat noodles.


RIDE (Two Days!!!): 
7/17 (Sat.) & 7/18 (Sun.)
MORNING START TIME & MEETING PLACE (7/17):
on 5/29 at 10:25 am we will met up at the plaza with the bronze statue in front of the west exit of the JR Nasu Shiobara Station. 

FINISH TIME & ENDING LOCATION(7/17): 
The day 7/17 will end at 8:00 pm at the Shironoyu Onsen. 

MORNING START TIME & MEETING PLACE (7/18):
on 7/18 at 8:20 am we will met up at west exit of Yaita station.

FINISH TIME & ENDING LOCATION(7/18): 
The day 7/18 will end at 2:00 pm at Tobu Kinugawa Onsen Station. 

RIDE DISTANCE: 7/17(Sat.) 43 km / 7/18(Sun.) 34km


COST – for 2 days event & hotel:
Participation fee : From 30,000 yen // Includes: 2 Cycling courses and guide, 2 lunches, 1 dinner, hotel accommodations, snacks, insurance, support car, and goodie bag from our supporters. 

*If you wish to reserve a bicycle for the ride we can arrange that for an additional 3,000 yen.

*If you would like to participate it’s necessary to sign up in advance and while spots are available.

*The cost of the Papersky’s Tour de Nippon does NOT INCLUDE TRANSPORTATION (flights, cars, trains, ferries) from the participant’s house to the starting point and from the finish point back to the participant’s house. All transportation must be self-booked.

This tour is planned by PAPERSKY and logistics are managed by JTB Utsunomiya Branch.
