Tochigi prefecture will be the destination for the Spring edition of Papersky’s Tour de Nippon. On this tour you’ll enjoy views of the majestic Nasu Mountain Range, and travel through the many fruit and rice fields of agriculturally rich Yaita city before making a few river crossings to arrive at our final destination the mountain onsen town of Kinugawa in Nikko.

The event will take place on 5/28 (sat.) and 5/29 (sun.). Papersky’s Tour de Nippon project is about finding the magic of Japan’s rural districts, their inhabitants, nature, culture and food. Each ride travels to various prefectures to ride bicycles, eat local food and meet the ‘real’ people of the area. This upcoming ride will take us through Yaita the heart of Tochigi Prefecture. 


EVENT & RIDE DETAILS:
Papersky’s Tour de Nippon in Tochigi / Yaita //
DATE: 2022/5/28 (Saturday) & 5/29 (Sunday)
PLACE: Tochigi Prefecture; Yaita City


FEATURING: 
5/28 (Sat.) – Day 1 / Cycle from Nasu Shiobara to Yaita
*Enjoy crystal clear fresh water trout pulled from the Konseigawa River. 
*Apple pie made from Yaita’s famous apples at, a revitalized old house
*An intimate evening featuring Yaita locals. Listen to their stories while eating regional delicacies.

5/29 (Sun.) – Day 2 / Cycle from Yaita to Nikko
*follow in the footsteps of the legendary poet, Basho. 
*Explore the ruins of an abandoned steam locomotive’s former route. 
*Eat stone-ground buckwheat noodles.


RIDE (Two Days!!!): 
5/28 (Sat.) & 5/29 (Sun.)
MORNING START TIME & MEETING PLACE (5/29):
on 5/28 at 10:25 am we will met up at the plaza with the bronze statue in front of the west exit of the JR Nasu Shiobara Station. 

FINISH TIME & ENDING LOCATION(5/28): 
The day 5/28 will end at 8:00 pm at the Yaita Onsen Makotonoyu. 

MORNING START TIME & MEETING PLACE (5/29):
on 5/29 at 8:15 am we will met up at Yaita Onsen Makotonoyu.

FINISH TIME & ENDING LOCATION(5/29): 
The day 5/29 will end at 2:00 pm at Tobu Kinugawa Onsen Station. 

RIDE DISTANCE: 5/28(Sat.) 43 km / 5/29(Sun.) 35km


COST – for 2 days event & hotel:
Participation fee : From 24,000 yen // Includes: 2 Cycling courses and guide, hotel accommodations, 2 lunches, 1 dinner, 1 breakfast, snacks, insurance and support car. 

*If you wish to reserve a bicycle for the ride we can arrange that for an additional 3,000 yen.

*If you would like to participate it’s necessary to sign up in advance and while spots are available.

*The cost of the Papersky’s Tour de Nippon does NOT INCLUDE TRANSPORTATION (flights, cars, trains, ferries) from the participant’s house to the starting point and from the finish point back to the participant’s house. All transportation must be self-booked.

This tour is planned by PAPERSKY and logistics are managed by JTB Utsunomiya Branch.
