Papersky’s Tour de Nippon project is about finding the magic of Japan’s rural districts, their inhabitants, nature, culture and food. We travel to various prefectures and ride bicycles. Traveling via bicycle allows us a clean and healthy way to explore Japan’s rural areas.

Chiba prefecture will be the destination for the late Autumn edition of Papersky’s Tour de Nippon. On the first day, we will visit KURKKU FIELDS, a sustainable farm and park spread over a vast area. On the way, you will enjoy “omusubi” (rice balls) made from pesticide-free rice and meet the makers of the omusubi, and learn about the cycle of life through eating. On the second day, we will visit a local soccer club run by former Japanese national soccer player Robert Cullen, and experience making nori (seeweed) and hama-yaki BBQ at the seaside.

The event will take place on 11/26 (sat.) and 11/27 (sun.). Papersky’s Tour de Nippon project is about finding the magic of Japan’s rural districts, their inhabitants, nature, culture and food. Each ride travels to various prefectures to ride bicycles, eat local food and meet the ‘real’ people of the area. This upcoming tour will take us through Kisarazu in Chiba prefecture.

FEATURING: 
11/26 (Sat.) – Day 1

*Pesticide-free, additive-free “Omusubi” and a chance to meet the rice producer, Akihiro Yamano.
*Enjoy “KURKKU FIELDS,” a sustainable, life-supporting experience that can only be found in Kisarazu.

11/27 (Sun.) – Day 2
*Enjoy the typical Boso local cuisine, “futomakizushi”!
*An abandoned school is being revitalized as a sports exchange center! Visit the Rovers facility and watch a soccer game.
*Experience making Kisarazu’s famous nori (seaweed) & grilled fresh shellfish caught off the coast of Kisarazu.


MORNING START TIME & MEETING PLACE (11/26):
on 11/26 at 10:30 am we will met up at Kisarazu Station West Exit, in front of the Kisarazu Tourist Office
FINISH TIME & ENDING LOCATION(11/26): 
The day 11/26 will end at 6:20 pm at KURKKU FIELDS. 

MORNING START TIME & MEETING PLACE (11/27):
on 11/27 at 8:50 am we will met up at KURKKU FIELDS.
FINISH TIME & ENDING LOCATION(11/27): 
The day 11/27 will end at 4:00 pm at Kisarazu Station West Exit.


RIDE DISTANCE:
11/26(Sat.) 13km  / 11/27(Sun.) 45km 


COST: 
Participation fee for 11/26(Sat.) : 18,000 yen (15,000 yen for Chiba residents) // Includes: cycling courses and guide, KURRKU FIELDS farm tour, lunch, dinner, 1, snacks, insurance and support car. 

Participation fee for 11/27(Sun.) : 12,000 yen (10,000 yen for Chiba residents) // Includes: cycling courses and guide, lunch, Nori (seaweed) making, Hamayaki BBQ, snacks, insurance and support car. 

*If you wish to reserve a bicycle for the ride we can arrange that for an additional 3,000 yen (same price even for one day or two days)

*If you would like to participate it’s necessary to sign up in advance and while spots are available.

*In case to participate both dates, please book an accommodation for 11/26(Sat.) by yourself. (TINY HOUSE VILLAGE in KURRKU FIELDS, Okura Academia Park Hotel, business hotels near Kisarazu Station, etc.)

*The cost of the Papersky’s Tour de Nippon does NOT INCLUDE TRANSPORTATION (flights, cars, trains, ferries) from the participant’s house to the starting point and from the finish point back to the participant’s house. All transportation must be self-booked.
