After carefully monitoring the movement of seabirds and small fish, currents, and tides, anglers send their lures long offshore with a clear aim. Tucked away in the southernmost part of Shizuoka Prefecture, Omaezaki City is a great place to enjoy the increasingly popular hobby of surf fishing. The cape, which juts out like a dividing line between Suruga Bay to the east and the Enshu-nada Sea to the southwest, boasts numerous outstanding fishing spots. Another location that draws in expert anglers is Ishizu Beach, a gravel beach in the fishing port of Yaizu in mid-Shizuoka.
