Tour de Nippon オフィシャル手ぬぐい発売

日本の魅力再発見の旅プロジェクト Tour de Nipponのテキスタイルが手ぬぐいになりました！ イベント開催に合わせて制作してきた、その土地をイメージしたカラーやパターンを用いたフライヤーのグラフィックが手ぬぐいになって登場。プロダクトデザイナー、佐藤謙行のデザインです。
第１弾として発売される手ぬぐいは、３種類。（１）Tour de Nipponの「オフィシャルストライプ」、（２）2011年に開催された高松をイメージした「うどんの波」、（３）2012年開催の静岡にちなんだ「茶畑」。
本シリーズは、手ぬぐいの可能性を常に発信し続ける手ぬぐい専門店かまわぬとPAPERSKYとのコラボレーション企画。明治時代から続く注染という技法を用い、職人の手で丁寧に染められる、かまわぬの手ぬぐいは、使うほどに手に馴染み、吸水性が高く、染め上がりも美しい。シリーズとして、つい集めたくなるTour de NIppon手ぬぐい。ぜひお試しください！

Japan Travellers Towels
An exciting series of ‘tenuguis’ inspired by Papersky’s Tour de Nippon series of bicycle rides across Japan’s rural prefectures. The designs are based on characteristics specific to each area. For instance, the green tea fields of Shizuoka, the rolling sea & udon found in Takamatsu and the water drops for Japan’s biggest lake district- Shiga. Papersky teamed up with Japanese traditional tenugui maker Kamawanu. Each towel is hand dyed via the ‘chusen’ method and patterns are hand cut with the greatest care. Tenugui’s have been the towels of choice for Japanese travelers since the Edo times because the specially woven cotton absorbs moisture perfectly while drying in a flash. We recommend beginning your collection with the official red-stripe Papersky Tour de Nippon model.
